Yolanda Lynette Lathers, transitioned and departed this life on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 6:44 am.

Yolanda accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Clarence Budgewater at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Antioch Full Gospel Baptist  Church and thereafter to Cornerstone Center of Faith Ministries.

Yolanda was a graduate of Woodlawn High School Class of 1988.  She furthered her education at Southern University.  She was Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Bill Coder.  Yolanda was on the journey and one class away from becoming a practical nurse before her death.

Yolanda leaves to mourn five sisters, Angela M. Lathers, Baton Rouge, LA, Tawanda (Arthur) Hayes, Wales, MI, Chiquita (Robert) Butler, Tammy (Tyrone) Sterling, and Carolyn (Trevus) Carter all of Baton Rouge, LA, two God-Children, Bailee Butler and Nautica Harvey, one God-Sister, Pieretta M. Bell- Harriston, Bloomfield, MI, three God-Brothers, Leandrew Bell, Jr., Darrell Bell and Jeremiah Bell, all of Baton Rouge, LA, two sisters/cousins, Christy and Kimberly Carey both of Baton Rouge, L, six nieces, three nephews, four great-nephews and a host of other relatives.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Leslie Lathers and Minister LouElla R. Lathers, paternal grandparents, Eddie and Alcina Lathers, maternal grandparents, Eddie and Elvira Sanford, two God-Brothers, Benjamin and Jeffery Dunbar, one God-Sister, Linda Ann Bell-Thomas.
