Obituary

Warren Eldridge Morgan, Sr. was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on February 21, 1956, to the late Bessie Morgan. He came to Christ through the Baptist faith. He earned his heavenly wings on August 8, 2021.

Warren was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his family and friends. He was a resident of the Scotlandville Community for many years, prior to relocating to Houston, Texas. As a young man, Warren attended Scotlandville Senior High School. He then entered Job Corps. Upon completion of Job Corps, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a heavy equipment worker, while serving in Germany. Upon leaving active service he received an honorable discharge. Upon returning from service, he was employed with the State of Louisiana, Department of Education for a few years and then spent time in the profession of welding. He ultimately settled upon a career in truck driving throughout the United States. He worked in the field of truck driving consistently for over twenty years, driving for several companies over that time. Warren eventually came back home to Baton Rouge, La. to enjoy retirement with friends and family.

Morgan of Houston, Texas; his siblings, Anthony Ray Harris Sr. (Lamonta) of Baton Rouge, LA, William Morgan of Baton Rouge, LA, Kerry Morgan (Francine) of Prairieville, LA, Rickey Morgan (Francise) of Baton Rouge, LA, Grylyn Morgan (Laura) of Bakersfield, CA., Beverly Williams of Atlanta, GA., Jean Pratt (T.L.) of Bakersfield, CA., and Carrie Hatch (James) of Thomasville, GA., 11 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn him, a special friend, Sheryl Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Morgan, his brother Robert Kelly, and his grandson, Gabriel Michael Morgan.
