Sister Thelma Spicer Parker, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was born January 19, 1931 to the late Claude Spicer and the late Thelma Phillips. On the evening of Saturday, April 30, 2022 she departed this life and went to her Heavenly Home.

She was converted and Baptized by the late Reverend Charles Pitcher.  She later united with Elm Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years under the leadership of the late J. R. Williams. She was under the leadership of Pastor Errol Domingue until her death.

Sister Thelma was united in Holy matrimony to the late Bennie Dunn.    From this union five children were born.  She was later united in holy matrimony to the late Frank Parker Sr.   From this union three children were born.

She was the youngest sister of the late Daisy Chaney and the late Delores Spieer Lang.

Sister Thelma S. Parker leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Melba Dunn Wilkerson, Thelma Dunn Griffin, and Bennie Dunn (Oscar) Mellion, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; seven sons, Abraham J Banks of Kenner, Louisiana, Frank (Gwendolyn) Parker, Jr., Anthony (Deborah) Dunn Sr. Gonzales, Louisiana, Johnell Parker, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Juan Parker, Dallas Texas; 28 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren; 4 God children, Pansy, Sharonda, Jonas, and Kendrick.

She reared her sister's children; Patricia Chaney, Kenner, Louisiana, Cynthia Chaney, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Deborah Chaney of Hammond, Louisiana, and Nary Chaney of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Sister Thelma was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Phillips; father, Claude Spicer; her husband, Frank Parker Sr.; her sons, Charles Anderson and Lionel Spicer; two sisters, Daisey Chaney and Delores Spicer Lang; great granddaughter, LaQuinca Wilkerson.

Visitation Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 PM until the Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM, Saintsville Church of God In Christ, 8930 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70811.  Carney and Mackey Funeral Home in charge of arrangement.  Interment: Winnfield Memorial Gardens, 7221 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70811.  Reverend Jeremy Poole Officiating.
