Terrence A. Hawkins, Sr., a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Zachary, La., departed life
on October 19, 2022, at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was born on February 18,
1978, and was raised by his mother, Alice Hawkins Gardner, and stepfather Kenneth Gardner,
Sr. He attended Zachary High School and worked as a stock clerk at Dollar Tree.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Jesse B. Bilberry, Jr. at Mt.
Pilgrim Baptist Church, in Baton Rouge, La. Lovingly called "Terry" by all who knew him, he
enjoyed watching television, cooking, working on electronics, and spending time with family
and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his parents; siblings Kenneth Gardner, Jr, Crystal Gardner and
Monica Gardner; children Terrielle A. Hawkins, Terrence A. Hawkins, Jr., Alexis Tennart, and
Terricka Tennart, a daughter he raised as his own; granddaughter Au'Miracle Hawkins; nephews
Jhi-Kenneth Gardner, Kentrell Fowler, Khayze Brooks, Christopher London, Mi'kye Augillard,
and Jaheim Chriss; niece Khadajah George; girlfriend Tonya Wright, former spouse Catrenia
Gutter-Hawkins; former partner Wanda Tennart; aunts Lucille Lathers and Thelma (Prophet)
Dupas; uncles Eddie (Betty) Hawkins and Joseph (Kim) Hawkins; numerous cousins, extended
family, friends, and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncles William Harris and Alonzo Hawkins, and
an aunt, Lilly Hawkins Cade.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. at Saintsville COGIC 8930 Plank Rd., Baton Rouge, La. 70811 Interment, officiated by Rev. James A.
Grayson will take place at 12:30pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Baker, La.
