A resident of Baton Rouge, La and native of New Roads, Louisiana passed away at the age of 79 on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 3:35 a.m. at the Baton Rouge

General (Mid-City) Hospital Butterfly Wing.  She was retired from Louisiana State University Food Service Division.  She also served on the Deaconess Board at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents

Lawrence and Susie Thomas, four sisters; Gloria Griffin, Annie Mae Thomas,

Jacqueline Thomas, Julitta Thomas Boyd, and two brothers, Elvin Thomas, Lawrence Thomas, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Danielle Denise Thomas.  She leaves to cherish

her love and memories - three daughters, Marshell Thomas Duncan, Georgette Thomas O'Neal (Kenneth), Peggy Thomas; one son, Ward Moore Thomas; three

brothers, Clarence Thomas, Sr., Charles Thomas, and Riley Thomas (Dietrich), and half-sister Mary Haney (Joseph); one brother-in-law Morris Griffin, Sr.; nine grandchildren, Tasha Feast (Larry), Kenneth O'Neal, Jr., Christopher O'Neal, Nicholas O'Neal, Manuel Scott, Brandon Thomas, Cameron Thomas, Tai'shianna Francois, Alexis Webb; four great grandchildren, Shaun Gladden, Jr., Mikyla Thomas, Jahvari Dunn, Sky Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Visitation at Abounding Love Ministries, 7076 Hooper Road, on Saturday, September 3, from 9:00 a.m. and religious services at 10:00 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Margaret E. Simms.  Arrangements by Charles Mackey Funeral Home, 1576 Robin St.

Interment in St. Francis Chapel Cemetery, New Roads, LA. The family would like to thank the staff at the Baton Rouge General (Mid-City) Hospital Butterfly Wing.
