Shelly Deloris
Harrison
Sep 3, 1943 — May 15, 2021
BATON ROUGE
"For in God's hands we rest untroubled."
Today, we remember the life, both earthly and eternal, of one whom we have loved dearly. We say good-bye to the physical form of our relationship with Shelly and greet the relationship with her soul that now begins anew.
Shelly D. Harrison, 77, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital after an extended illness. Shelly was born September 3, 1943 to Willaim and Eva Harrison in Felixville, LA. She was a loving devoted mother, godmother, and aunt. Shelly accepted Christ at eight years old and joined the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Allen Crosan. She was a member of the Usher board in which she joined on Sunday, June 4, 1967. When called upon to help another church in the Amite Baptist Association, she answered that call and gladly helped.
Shelly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved being outdoors, fishing, and traveling.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter Dwana O. Harrison, Three sisters; Mildred Miles, Earlean Harrison, Gwendolyn (Melvin) Carter. One brother Ralph (Marylynn) Harrison. Three godsons'; Lawrence (Bobo) Harrison, and Kelvin (Shalisa) Carter, Jelvin (Keyoka) Carter. One sister-in-law; Edna Harrison. Two brothers-in-law; Alexander Gibson II, and Rickie Pettis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Special thank you to the staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, and Heart of Hospice.
Shelly was preceded in death by her parents William and Eva Harrison, brothers David, William, and Joseph Harrison and Sisters Neva Harrison, Gayosa Gibson, and Alice Pettis
