Heaven's gain was our loss, when Shaylon LaCoya Day left these earthly constraints on

Saturday, June 5, 2021 from St. Joseph Hospice - Carpenter's House, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Shaylon Day 28, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana made her transition peacefully at 5:35 pm, Saturday,

June 5, 2021. Born October 23, 1992, the daughter of Brenda Franklin King. Shaylon grew up

in the church, attended Oasis Christian Church and Resurrection and New Life Fellowship,

accepted Christ at the tender age of seven. She is survived by two brothers, Marquillis Ghoram

(Marquita) of Baton Rouge and Marlone Black, Sr. (Lakeisha) of Baton Rouge; grandmother,

Helen Tennart of Baton Rouge; beloved aunts and uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, great

nieces, great nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Vernell Day.

Shaylon was loved by many. Her radiant smile, infectious laughter and memories will be

cherished forever. She was blessed to be a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Shaylon

was adored by many and will truly be missed by all. Although we are saddened by her

departure, we rejoice that her burdens have been lifted. To God be the glory! A Memorial

Service of Remembrance for Shaylon will commence on Saturday, June 12, 2021, 11:00 am at

Resurrection and New Life Fellowship located at 7569 E. Industrial Dr., Baton Rouge,

Louisiana 70805, including a viewing from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The repass will be held at 1:00

pm – 3 pm the same day at The Blue Room located at 6755 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
