Sister Sarah Lee Richardson, lovingly known as "Sarah," was the eldest of nine children born to the lateWesley Douglas, Sr. and Alice Douglas. She was born on December 4, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana. After a season of illness, she peacefully transitioned from this life into eternal rest on the morning of January 21,2026, at the age of 83. At an early age, Sarah accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized in 1959 by the late Reverend Kinch Quiett at New Canaan Baptist Church in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Her faith in God remained a guiding light throughout her life. Sarah received her education in West Feliciana Parish and was a proud graduate of Dawson High School in St. Francisville, Louisiana. She later united in holy matrimony with her devoted husband, John Richardson, Jr., and to this loving union four children were born. Their marriage of 63 years stood as a beautiful example of love, commitment, and faith. Sarah dedicated many years of faithful service as a bus driver for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, from which she retired in 2004. In addition to her career, she pursued her passion for interior decorating through Home Interiors and Gifts, where she spent over 20 years beautifying homes and bringing joy to countless families throughout the community. Her heart for service extended far beyond her profession. Sarah was a natural caregiver, always willing to help others in any way she could. She was a devoted member of Greater King David Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board and attended Sunday School. She truly loved her church family and took great joy in her service to the Lord. Sarah lived life fully and joyfully. She loved traveling both nationally and internationally, spending cherished time with family and friends, and especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known as a peacemaker and a trusted friend, she was generous in spirit and deed, faithfully supporting her church and various charitable organizations. She also found joy in gardening, cooking, and the beauty of nature. She leaves to cherish her precious memory and carry on her legacy of love and faith: her loving husband, John Richardson, Jr.; her children: Patrick Richardson of Baton Rouge, LA; Germaine Lamotte (J.
