Obituary

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall lack nothing. makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:1-4

Rose Mary Spears was born on January 28, 1958 to the union of the late Bernard Spears, Sr. and the late Joeann Spears. She was baptized at an early at St. John Baptist Church in Clinton, LA where she was raised. On Sunday, March 24, 2024, God, in His infinite wisdom, called Rose home to rest.

Rose performed many roles during her journey but her most cherished role was that of being a mother and grandmother. She made sure her kids as well as those she encountered knew they were loved. She made sure she was always there to support her grandkids no matter what the situation. Her grandkids were the apple of her eyes. She protected and cared for all those she loved. She was a source of emotional support and encouragement not only for her family and friends but also for those she encountered.

She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Even in the midst of her health struggles, she remained the backbone of her family. She fought the good fight and endured her struggles with strength and humility.

Rose's memory will continue to live on in her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory her five children, Demetries, Chantelle, Albert Sr., and Deidra Spears all of Baton Rouge, LA as well as Nicholas Dunn of Houston, TX as well as her two brothers, Bernard Spears, Jr. and David Spears of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Endonezia Spears (Houston, TX), Chelsea Thompson, Albert Jr., Trinity Spears, Rodrick Walker, Jr., Elijah Johnson, Sr., Kayla Spurlock, Bethany Gray, and Mariah Robinson all of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jason Spurlock (Humble, TX). Also, left to cherish her memory are her great-grandchildren Kam'ari and Aubreigh Spears of Baton Rouge, LA along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard, Sr. and Joeann Spears as well as her sister, Eunice Preston.
