Robert L. Coates was born on April 8, 1959, to Robert L. Stewart and Mildred Coates in Zachary, LA. Robert transitioned from his earthly home on April 10, 2023 at his residence. Robert accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age, was baptized at Little Rock Baptist Church, later moved his membership to Douglas Avenue Baptist under the leadership of Rev. Jessie Ghoram, Jr. until his death. Robert has a servant's heart, a giving spirit and a smile that expressed love. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He never met a stranger, once you met him you were bound to love him. Robert leaves to cherish his memory his four children and their spouses, Llya Antwine (Shontelle) Winns, Sr., Tikisha (Noah) McKneely, Terrell (Keisha) Hail and Robin Hail; seven grandchildren, three sisters: Bettie C. Jefferson, Eula M. Coates of Baton Rouge, LA and Gloria (James) Parker, of  Oklahoma. A devoted companion; Wanda Franklin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Robert was  preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Robert Stewart, Jr.; and a grandson: Illya Antwine Winns, Jr.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who know him. Forever In Our Hearts
