Ora Mae Grimes Williams is affectionately known as Jenny. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. She departed this life on November 6, 2025, at the age of 77 at Baton Rouge General Hospital, Bluebonnet.

Ora was born on August 30, 1948 in Clinton, Louisiana, to Beatrice Grimes and Arthur Shaffers. Ora was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Roger Wright of the Mount Hope Baptist Church in Clinton, LA. She was a graduate of Scotlandville High School, class of 1966. Through her working years, she was an employee at the Holiday Inn and Earl K Long Hospital. Ora carried her light everywhere she went, her gentle spirit, a kind heart that made her a blessing to coworkers, friends and strangers alike. She was a faithful member of the Greater New Galilee Baptist Church, a dedicated deaconess, a nurturing Sunday School teacher, and a joyful vacation Bible School teacher. She devoted herself to teaching and guiding others, including supporting youth in the Glory-to-Glory Youth and Young Adult Conference. She was faithful in the Ministry of Help, always reaching out of the church walls, touching lives and meeting the needs of others. Ora used her gift to guide others serving in the Drama Ministry and lifted praises to God as president of the Sanctuary Choir. Her life was a ministry; every song she sang, every lesson she taught, every meal she prepared, every act of service reflected her deep love for Christ. A woman of prayer, she believed in the power of scripture, the strength of fellowship, and the promise of eternal life. Ora walked with God daily, and those who knew her saw the light of Christ shining through her. A humble and devoted servant of the Lord. She lived her life as a true example of Christian Love, Grace and, Steadfast Faith.

Ora was united in Holy matrimony on June 8, 1968 to James Williams, and to this union, five children were born. Yvonne, Tyrone, James Theodis, Carlos, and Tiffany. James was her true Love. With this union came a bonus son, Leonard Burton, and a grandson James T. Converse, whom they raised.

Ora leaves behind to cherish his memory, two daughter's Yvonne (Terry) Clark and Tiffany Williams of Baton Rouge, La; Four Sons Leonard (Tara) Burton of Prairieville, La; Tyrone (Tabitha) Williams; James Theodis Williams and Carlos (Lakeisha) Williams all of Baton Rouge, La; Ten grandchlidren; four great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson Jasai Converse, two sisters, Margie L. Williams and Emma Davis; Six Sister in laws Dorothy Vandiver, Azie Lee Moore, Laurna Catherine, Rita Wright, Hazel Williams and Alma Williams. Four brothers Leroy (Jacqueline) Williams. McKinley (Doris) Williams. Orna Ray (Debra) Shafers, Vernell Williams. One Brother in-law, Cleveland (Deloris) Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceeded in death by her husband James Williams, parents Beatrice Grimes and Arthur Shaffers. Brother Willie and Donald Williams, Sister Mary Alice Steward and Andrea Burgess. Two neices: Stephanie Williams and Kierra Dorsey. One Nephews: Frederick Dorsey.
