Lois Vendora Myles-Watterson , daughter of the late Sam Myles and Ruth Mondy-Myles was born in Bogalusa, La., September 10, 1935.

God is too wise to make a mistake and too just to do anything wrong. God in his infinite wisdom called Lois Watterson, home on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Bayou Chateau Nursing Center, Simmesport, La.

She was educated in the Washington Parrish Public School System, graduating from Central Memorial High School Class of 1954. Lois was Central Memorial High School Home Coming Queen. She matriculated and graduated from Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, La where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education.

She moved to Wisconsin where she worked for several years, later moving to Richmond-Okland, Ca. where she resided with her aunt Ethel Harry. She worked for over 30 years at Southern University as the Dorm Director of Boley Hall and retired in 1999. Due to her love and dedication of working with the youth, she went back to Southern University as a Residential Counselor. Upon her second retirement, she worked as a sitter for the elderly. She was the Advisor for the Baptist Student Union Choir of Southern University. She attended the various Baptist Student Union Retreats and was very supportive in the choir endeavors. She received an appreciation award from the choir for her loyalty and dedicated services. She was the Assistant Coordinator of Miss Southern University Pageant and the Bayou Classic Pageant. She also, was the Star-Time Event Coordinator.

She received Christ at an early age and was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Bogalusa, La. under the leadership of the late Rev. BB Moses and the late Rev. Alton Owens. After relocating to Baton Rouge, La, she joined the Greater King David Baptist Church and was a member and president of the Pastor Support Ministry formerly known as the Paster Aid under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John E. Montgomery, II.

Her favorite scripture was 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith and her favorite song "I've Been Delivered".

Lois enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

We will truly miss Lois kind heart, good cooking, dedication and devotion to her family and friends.
