Laura Louise Harris Carter was born on July 5, 1934, to the union of the late Robert Lee & Mattie Earline Hartford Harris. Laura was the fourth of eleven children, born in Torras, Louisiana. She was married to the late Ivory "Huck" Carter. Laura was a licensed Cosmetologist for twenty years, a Dietician with Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center for twenty-three years. After she retired, she became a care giver for the elderly. "Miss Huck" as she was affectionately known was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Laura leaves to cherish her precious memory of five children: Gilda Robinson-Fisher (Dawn, Sr), Gilbra Robinson-Davis (Henry, Jr), Ivory Cartez Carter (Marsha), Theory Carter Webb, and Donavan Carter (Yolanda). Two brothers Robert Lee Harris, Jr. and Leroy Jerome Harris. Ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, & twelve great-great grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Ivory "Huck" Carter, parents: Mattie & Robert Lee Harris, Sr., brothers: Walter Felton Harris, Joseph Herman Harris, Alvin "Chico" Harris, & Clarence Edward Harris, sister: Georgia Mae Harris Banks, Mary Lee Harris Taylor, Viola Delores Harris Kinchen, & Marie Harris Robertson, grandsons: Steven Lamont Daniels & Chedrick Cartez Jackson, great-great grandsons: Clarence Yarbrough Jr, Kaiz & Kaizen Turner.
