JoAnn Gordon, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away peacefully on April

6, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on March 14, 1957, in New Orleans, LA. JoAnn was a

devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt whose warmth and generosity touched

many lives.

JoAnn dedicated over 25 years to the care and development of children, a career that

reflected her nurturing spirit. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Agape

Missionary Baptist Church. Known for her passion for cooking, JoAnn found her

greatest joy in hosting her siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends, ensuring no one ever

left her home hungry or unloved.

She leaves her memories to her loving children, Montrial (Keoshia) Gordon and

Moshanna Gordon; and her seven cherished grandchildren, Jerome Smith, Kioshia Hills,

Montrellani Gordon, MiKaela Gordon, A'Kera Gordon, Aden Gordon, Jemere Fountain, and nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind her siblings: Yvonne Hawkins, Jessie Montgomery, Margaret Hollins, Dianne Simmons (Robert), Frederick Gordon (Odelia), Pamela Hart (Dwight), Eric Shaffer (Seleria), Rochelle Thomas (Michelis), and Vernon Gordon.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Gordon Sr. and Mildred Shaffer

Gordon; and her siblings, Clarence Gordon Jr., Ray Robinson, McKinley Shaffer Sr.,

Jackie Shaffer Sr., and Tommie Robinson.

Services:

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Agape Missionary Baptist Church

(1689 75th Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70807) from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The funeral service

will follow immediately at 10:00 AM.
