On Wednesday, January 7, Jerrel Dixon quietly answered the call of the voice
of his GOD where he now resides peacefully in his heavenly home.
Jerrel Dixon was born to the late Ella (Wheeler) Dixon and Crawford Dixon,
Sr. on March 18, 1954 in Baton Rouge, LA. He received the guidance of the
Lord at an early age, here at New Rising Sun Baptist Church. Jerrel had a
fulfilling career as an extremely skilled carpenter, building beautiful homes
in Texas and lending his talents to family and friends when called. In his free
time you would find him fishing and playing baseball, and in his later years
enjoying a delicious HoneyBun.
Jerrel leaves to cherish his memories three sisters, Lilly (Dixon) Mckee
(Johnny Mckee) Zachary, LA., Gracie (Dixon) Williams (John Williams, Sr.) of
Baton Rouge, LA., Ollie (Dixon) Miller (Macknile Miller) Memphis, TN.; One
brother Leo Dixon (Dorothy Dixon) of Baton Rouge, LA. Along with a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Mrs. Ella and Mr.
Crawford Dixon, Sr.; One brother Oliver (Dixon) Wheeler; one sister Ella
(Dixon) Wilson; one nephew Kevin Wilson; one niece Betty York.
Jerrel will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
