James Alex Banks was born on August 31st, 1970 to the union of late James Anderson and the late Shirley Banks in New Orleans, LA.

James was baptized at an early age in New Orleans, LA. James Attended Istrouma High School. He was employed at Poboy Express for over 5 years. James enjoyed cooking, watching the New Orleans Saints and spending time with family and friends.

James departed this life on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025 at Ochsner Medical Center. Waiting to welcome James home is his father James Anderson; Mother Shirley Banks, Step Mother Elizabeth Anderson, maternal grandparents; (5) Uncles, (2) Aunts, two brothers.

James leave to cherish a legacy of memories; his loving and devoted son James Orange, two step children Cherokee Orange and Briyoni Thompson; six grandchildren Jayshawn Orange, Chivon Orange, Caleb Bynum, Caleb Orange, Clover Orange and Dalilah Johnson; three sisters Elizabeth A Johnson, Joan Scott (George) and Linda Nixon (David). One brother William Billy Jr (Patricia). One Uncle Doug Anderson; One aunt Florida Anderson. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
