Dr. Ivory Mae Tolbert, Th.D., a native of Zachary, Louisiana and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, entered into her eternal rest at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:40 p.m. at the age of 85.

Dr. Tolbert was a retired, long-time employee of Southern University A & M College, where she faithfully served for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glanzy and Cora Lee O'Conner Tolbert; and her siblings, Rosa Lee Tolbert Mosley, Glen Charles Tolbert, Earl Wayne Tolbert, and Gloria Dean Tolbert Hurst.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters: Caroline T. Whicker of Dallas, Texas; Evangelist Jacqueline Y. Tolbert of Oakland, California; and Brenda T. Bell (Melvin) of Baker, Louisiana; and one brother, Rev. Bidroe Tolbert, Sr. (Clara) of Oakdale, California, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 9700 Scenic Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70807.  Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Amite Memorial Gardens, 59974 S. Laurel Street, Amite, Louisiana 70422.
