Gwendolyn (Lemon) Jones made her grand arrival on February 1, 1957, in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born to union of Cleveland and Margaret lemon. She was raised in a loving, Christian household and accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was a member of Greater New Galilee Baptist Church. She was a graduate of McKinley Senior High School. Some of her hobbies included fishing, baking, and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loyal employee of Pace Analytical Laboratory.

Gwendolyn was loved by many, and her memory will be cherished through the lives of her daughter and son-in-law, Timika (Robert Jr.) Scott, Her grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jeremy Mitchell, and Jaedyn Byrd.  By her honorary daughter Ada Monget of Norfolk, VA, and Honorary son Jeremy Lawrence. Her older Brother Anthony Nelson, three younger sisters, Teri (Hayward) Davis, Stephanie Newman, Rosalyn (Michael) Davis.  Her Godchildren, Ashley (Michael) Aggison of Lafayette, La, Felicia West, Devin Douglas, and Autumn Balfour of Fort Worth, TX.  By her best friends, Linda Taylor, Olevia Harris, Wynona Douglas, Carol Jordan, and Clare Wilson. Special Aunt and Confidant, Joyce Haney. And a host aunts, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Anderson Lemon, her maternal grandparents Tim and Louella McNeely. Her Paternal grandparents Bessie and Cleveland Lemon Sr. Her parents Margaret (McNeely) and Cleveland Lemon Jr., and spouses Timothy Byrd and Kenneth Jones.
