Sister Geneva Mae Woodard McFarland entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. She was an 80-year old native of Gloster, MS; a resident of Baton Rouge; and a retired hospitality supervisor. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Viewing at Little Zion Baptist Church, 1955 74th Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA on Wednesday, January 11 at 8:00 a.m. until religious services at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Marcus Jackson. Interment at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary, LA. Survivors include her two sons; Michael McFarland, Sr. and Howard A. McFarland, Jr.; two daughters, Antoinette M. Johnson, and Stacye M. Bradford; two stepchildren, Tyrone Bynum and Paula Bynum; three sisters, Jackie W. Ranel, Sandra W. Johnson, and Betty W. Dupas; two brothers, Albert Woodard, Jr. and Thomas Woodard; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Recently, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Anthony McFarland, her devoted husband of more than 62 years. Arrangements entrusted to Charles Mackey Funeral Home.
