On Monday March 31st, 2025, Pastor Franklin transitioned from his Earthly home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pastor Franklin was born on June 9, 1939 to Joseph Franklin and Hazel Netterville. Pastor Franklin was the founder and Pastor of Monroe Baptist Church for 32 years spreading the Gospel and bringing souls to Christ.

On January 18th, 1989, He married the love of his life and soulmate, Diane Johnson Franklin. Diane and David gave birth to 2 children and 5 Granddaughters. Gregory Franklin (Krista Franklin), Jerry Franklin (Tiffany Franklin). KaDacey Franklin, JaNira Franklin, Tiairra Franklin, Tiye Franklin, Nyah Bell Franklin. David often bragged about being a proud father of 12 kids. Louis Roach, Deborah Dunbar (Leonard), Michael Carter, David Franklin Jr., Irene Gibson (Horace), Marilyn Jordan (Harvey), Clara Franklin, Patricia Franklin.

Revered Franklin leaves to cherish Ten children, two brothers; William Franklin, John Louis Veal, six sisters; Rosetta Stalworth, Salina Mason, Florence Batiste, Shirley Hall, Patricia Rogers, Nora Arican Veals. He's also survived by 32 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Revered Franklin also leaves to cherish his Church Family of Pastoral Brothers, Sisters, and sons, Deacon Board, Usher Board, Musicians, and all the Monroe Baptist members.

Reverend Franklin was also a plumbing Legend and finally put his tools aside leaving a legacy of plumbing greatness throughout Southern Louisiana.

David was preceded in death by his Parents, Father-in-law (Arthur Johnson), Mother-in-law (Annie Bell Johnson), Son (Calvin Franklin).

Reverend Franklin will be greatly missed. Please continue to uplift his family in prayer.
