BATON ROUGE
Betty Lois "Cookie" Givens was born on November 6, 1956 in Baton Rouge, LA to the late Joseph Harris and Creola Givens. On May 14, 2021, at the age of 64, Betty departed the earthly life.
Betty grew up and resided in Baton Rouge, LA. She attended McKinley High School. She had many hobbies and enjoyed her family and friends. Betty will be fondly remembered for her love of XXXX, sharing and caring for her children, bargain shopping, and spending time with her friends. Her family describes her as calm and "cool".....allowing nothing to bother her.
Betty leaves to cherish her many loving memories: her mother, Creola Givens of Baton Rouge, La; a loving and devoted daughter, Letetica Givens Walker and a loving son Brannigan Givens, Sr. Both of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother Trussell George of Baton Rouge, La; five grandchildren, Brinesha Graves, Jarius Parker, Brannigan Givens, Jr., Braya Hurbert, and Abraya Givens.
Betty is preceded in death by her father Joseph Harris, Brothers, Kevin and John Givens and Joseph Harris; two sisters, Pamela "Wendy" Horton and Joann Harris, Grandparents, Manerra and Robert Givens; and a Son-in-Law Shaun Walker. A host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
A Public Visitation and Funeral services are scheduled, Monday, May 24, 2021 at Charles Mackey Funeral Home chapel. Visitation is from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM and Funeral Services at 11:00 AM/
All arrangements are entrusted to Charles Mackey Funeral Home.
